As soon as you feel soreness in your throat, make it a point to gargle with salt dissolved in warm water. The salt in the water can help drain excess fluid from inflamed areas in the throat reducing the symptoms.
Drink Warm Liquids
Drinking warm water is a good way of soothing the inflammation in the throat; but this does not have any taste and may be unappetizing for most people. A warm soup is a much better solution as is a glass of hot herbal teas.
Honey and Lemon
Honey has natural medicinal properties, which are good for throat and lemon has vitamin C that provides cure to coughs and colds. Organic honey is better to use as it has no impurities. Honey’s soothing properties not only cure the child of dry cough but it is easy on a child’s stomach too.
There are many ways in which we can use turmeric as a solution to the cough. Drinking hot milk with turmeric is a traditional remedy for cough, which is shown to even have antibacterial effects. A glass of hot milk is mixed with half teaspoon of turmeric powder and drink warmly to get better relief.
It is considered to be the best antidote to dry cough. Chewing raw ginger (peeled) with a pinch of salt is the best medication to ease dry cough. Add equal amount of sugar and black pepper to the mixture if you cannot eat it and take it along with butter in the morning and evening.
